Additional steps already taken by Paradip Port Authority for “Ease of Doing Business”
  • Allotment of storage plots is done through an online application system.
  • Allotment of berths is done through an online system.
  • As per the requirements of customers, cargo-related bills and vessel-related bills are being sent through an electronic system within 7 days of the ship’s sailing.
  • Gate monitoring system has been re-organized to ease the congestion of vehicles inside and outside the Port area.
  • The Coal Berth No. 1 & 2 have been declared as exclusive coastal berths at Paradip Port for loading coastal Thermal Coal. This will eliminate the monitoring of customs, which was previously required for coastal cargo at Paradip Port.
  • Labour levy on account of CFH workers has been reduced on steel and other commodities to make the handling cost at the Port more competitive.
  • The Management Committee, in which only 9 CFH Agents were enlisted members to source workers for loading and unloading of trucks and wagons, has now been opened to all stevedores to become members and undertake independent work.

However, out of the average berthday output achieved during a day, about 55% cargo is handled during 6AM to 6 PM i.e. during the normal working hours and the rest 45% is handled during 6 PM to 6 AM i.e beyond normal working hours.

ii) Issues regarding removal of bottleneck on Rail connectivity:-

a) Auto signalling from Talcher to Paradip to be completed by October, 2017.

b) Running of Long haul rakes from Talcher to Paradip.

c) Early completion of Haridaspur-Paradip railway line. The physical progress is 76.15% and financial progress is 75.50%. Schedule date of completion September, 2018.

d) De-bottlenecking of movement via Cuttack is being planned by having alternative route from Salegaon to Kandarpur. This needs to be taken up urgently by M/s. IPRCL. M/s.RITES has been assigned for preparation of DPR.
