Ship Recycling Hub

Paradip Port is emerging as a potential Ship Recycling Hub, aligning with India’s vision to become a global leader in green ship recycling. With its strategic location and existing maritime infrastructure, the port is ideally positioned to support eco-friendly dismantling and recycling of decommissioned vessels.

The proposed facility will follow international environmental and safety standards, contributing to sustainable maritime operations and promoting the circular economy. This initiative is also expected to create skilled employment and ancillary business opportunities in the region.

Industrial Projects

Paradip Port has evolved into a vital industrial and logistics hub on India’s eastern seaboard. Several industrial projects are being developed in and around the port area to promote port-led industrialization under the Sagarmala initiative. These include petrochemical complexes, fertilizer plants, warehousing zones, and multi-modal logistics parks.

By attracting both public and private investments, PPA is fostering regional economic growth, generating employment opportunities, and strengthening the coastal industrial ecosystem that complements the port’s growing cargo throughput.

Mechanization of Berths

Paradip Port Authority is steadily modernizing its operational infrastructure through the mechanization of existing berths. The initiative focuses on deploying high-capacity ship unloaders, conveyor systems, and automated stacking yards to improve productivity and minimize manual handling.

By introducing mechanized cargo operations, PPA aims to enhance efficiency, reduce vessel idle time, and ensure safer working conditions for port workers. This transition to automation also supports sustainable growth by lowering emissions and optimizing energy use during cargo movement.

Western Dock Expansion

The Western Dock Expansion Project at Paradip Port is one of the most ambitious infrastructure initiatives undertaken to enhance cargo handling capacity and efficiency. The project aims to create state-of-the-art berths equipped with advanced loading and unloading systems capable of handling large vessels.

This expansion will transform Paradip Port into a world-class maritime hub with a deeper draft, modern facilities, and faster turnaround times.
